The effect of H <sub>2</sub> S on internal dry reforming in biogas fuelled solid oxide fuel cells

Internal dry reforming of methane is envisaged as a possibility to reduce on capital and operation costs biogas fuelled solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) system by using the CO2 present in biogas. Due internal reforming, requirement for upgrading becomes obsolete, thereby simplifying complexity increasing its technology readiness level. However, impurities prevailing such H2S have been reported literature one parameters which affect process SOFCs. This research has carried out investigate effects nickel-scandia-stabilised zirconia (Ni-ScSZ) electrolyte supported Results showed that at 800°C CH4:CO2 ratio 2:3, concentrations low 0.125 ppm affects both catalytic electric performance SOFC. At concentration, CH4 affected it reduced from over 95% below 10% 10 h. Therefore, future SOFC cost reduction seems become trade-off between removal cleaning facilitate efficient reforming.
